Welcome back Briana the Barbie's weekly blog, I know it's been a long while since I've posted about one of my beautiful creations but now I am back at it and no more waiting. This week I've started a piece of a garden of flowers. I chose flowers simply because I love flowers and when I'm mad they calm me down. First, I picked out of wooden canvas and used a brand new saw that Room 13 got. Once I got the perfect size, I picked up a pencil and started to sketch all sizes and types of flowers.  Something about this project that went really well was using the new saw. I definitely liked the new saw better instead of the old saw because it was way more easier to use. And I didn't need my teacher's, Amy, help that much. One part of the project that was a struggle was drawing different types of flowers. I only know how to sketch tulips and the little white garnish flowers that they be putting on the corsage for girls for prom. Also, I would say making the

The Son of Man Made by René Magritte The title of the painting is called “The Son of Man”, the artist that produced this painting was René Magritte. The artist was born in Lessines, Belgium. He died in Belgium in 1967. He has been producing artwork since 1915. Some of his other popular artwork are “Golconda”, “The Human Condition”, and “On the Threshold of Liberty”. The painting is currently installed in a private collection. I don’t believe people can still see it to this day, probably was allowed during a certain period of time. The painting has not been displayed in more than one place. This piece of art is visual art. This painting was painted with oil paint on a canvas. The theme of this painting I believe is opening up. In this painting, I see a man dressed up with an apple covering his face. The artwork sort of makes it difficult to understand the theme. The theme could’ve been conveyed better by having more detail in the painting. Something I’ve experienced in connec

Olympia Made by Édouard Manet The title of this painting is “Olympia” and the artist that produced this magnificent piece of art is Édouard Manet. The artist was born in Paris, France. He died in 1883 at age 51 in Paris, France. I’m assuming he started producing his art in the 1860s because that is when some of his early piece were dated. Some of his other popular artwork are “The Luncheon on the Grass” and “A Bar at the Folies-Bergère”. The painting is installed at Musée d’Orsay, Paris. I believe people still can go to Paris to see the painting. It has not been displayed in more than one place. It is a piece of visual art. The painting is an oil on canvas piece. The theme of this artwork would be sexual independence. In this painting, I see a white naked woman and a black woman, I believe she’s a slave, handing her a bouquet of flowers. The painting does convey the theme well because the white woman in the painting is naked and has a certain look on her face like she’s carefr

The Birth Of Venus Made By Sandro Botticelli The title of this beautiful painting is “The Birth of Venus”. The artist that produced this work goes by the name Sandro Botticelli. The artist was born in Florence, Republic of Florence, also know today as Italy. The artist died in 1510.He has been producing artwork since the 1470s though probably earlier than that because some of his artwork was not dated. Some of his other artwork that is also known are the pieces, “Primavera” and “The Adoration of the Magi”. His artwork represents the Early Renaissance Age. The painting is installed at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. People can still visit Italy and go to the gallery to see the painting. The painting has not been displayed in more than one place that we know of. It is a visual piece of art. The painting was made on a panel canvas, which has cheap support and was painted with a variety different pigments. The theme of this artwork is imagination, in the painting I see a bea

Haunted House Costume

Oh my god, long time no see stranger. I know it’s been awhile since the last time I’ve posted, simply because Room 13 has our annual haunted house and I haven’t had time to make any of my lovely paintings. So today I’m going to just talk about my scary costume I designed and put together myself for the haunted house. I was a guide for the haunted house and I chose to be one of the sexy girls from The Purge, so for my shirt I got an old white button-up and poured blood all over it. The end result made me look like I got killed because the ‘blood’ seeped through to the back of the shirt. The mask I wore, you can’t see in the picture I uploaded, but I simply gave the faceless mask a bloody smile for a scary look. Lastly, to finish the costume I wore black knee high boots, black fishnets, and a black pencil skirt to give off a scary bit very sexy look. I would say getting the materials for my costume I needed in a short amount of time was one thing that went really well. Within two days,
